Prioritized Daily Tasks
Had prayer with Debbie and took some water with hydration multiplier, and a sandwich with me to Provo Mt. where the "Y" is painted. I parked the car and started hiking at 9:15 AM. It took me 57 minutes to reach the top of the "Y". I hiked back down and started up again at 10:43 AM. I set on a bench and rested before hiking back down at 12:13 PM. It has been a little hot, 90+ degrees F. The two rounds up to the "Y" took about as much out of me as did the hiking up 6 times back in
I drove to Costco in Lehi and filled the Land Rover with gas. I went to the Legacy Center and did some upper body exercises. On the way home I stopped at the grocery store and picked up two or three items for tonight and tomorrow.
I came home and Debbie was working on her Father's Day talk for sacrament meeting tomorrow.
We watched some TV. My sister, Elain, called. She has so much anxiety and under such stress she can not eat. She talked for about 45 minutes. Debbie and I listened. I took about 5 minutes and apologized for everything I have said or done that has caused her grief and to be upset. I used the quote she told me Bob Johnson, Bart's father, would say and teach his family. All his children follow the cousel. "ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE, ELIMINATE THE NEGATIVE, LATCH ON TO THE AFFIRMATIVE AND DON'T MESS WITH MR. INBETWEEN." It is from the words of a song by Bing Crosby. I sent a followup text to Elain telling her I am so sorry for any anxiety or stress I have caused her and telling her we should follow the counsel she heard from Bob Johnson before he passed away. Elain responded back at 2 AM and again at 4 AM telling me I had misquoted her on what Bob Johnson had said, "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, and don't mess with Mr. Inbetween". She also went into what has caused her anxiety and stress and that I, her brother, can do better. I know she needs help. She told me again about things I had done, things some of her children and done, and things others had done, that showed little concern for her and were wrong. The peace she is seeking comes only from the Lord and she has to be willing to that road and accept Him and the peace He offers.
Michael, Autumn, and the children sent me a father's day present, box of cookies, that came late this afternoon.

Notes from my 2019 journal regarding climbing the "Y" mountain
29 Apr 2019, Monday
I drove to the entrance to the "Y" trail head and hiked up about 175 feet elevation sea level above the top of the "Y" which was at an elevation of 6224 feet above sea level. I started at 1:30 pm and took pictures. I hiked up and down the trail twice and got back to my car at 5 pm. The hike was less than 5 miles. I called Debbie when I got back to the car and thanked Heavenly Father for the strength to climb the mountain.
22 Jun 2019, Saturday
… breakfast before going down to Provo and climbing the "Y" mountain. I started hiking about 10:15 AM and finished about 5:15 PM; 4 times up and down the mountain, which was 8.8 miles. From the trail head beginning at the parking lot to the top of the "Y" is 1.1 miles; the elevation at the start of the trail is 5326 ft, and the elevation at the top of the "Y" is 6,221 ft. (895 feet). I only did 3 laps (up and down) on Thursday, which was 6.6 miles but Fitbit exaggerates a little. Today it had me walking 15.74 miles. I probably walked a total of 9 miles.
28 Jun 2019, Friday
Up at 6:30 AM, Debbie and I had prayer and read scriptures; Debbie fixed a nice breakfast and I drove to the "Y" trail head in Provo east of BYU. I started at 8:30 AM and climbed until 5:30 PM. I stopped at the end of the 3rd lap and went to Costco and bought a case of grapefruit and a pair of gloves to cover my hands at the sporting good store in the mall next door. It took about about an hour and I took another 30 minute break after climbing the mountain the 4th time. I climbed a little over 5,000 feet and over did it. My last lap, 5, I was throwing up the grapefruit. I got home and had some chicken noodle soup and gator-aid. I also drank a coke to help settle my stomach.
I got my second Covid-19 vaccination on February 22, 2021. About two to three months later I went to bed feeling about the same as I always have but the next morning, I was drained of energy and strength. It was as if my energy level fell off a cliff in one night. I have been on a plateau since then but my equilibrium is acting up. I am starting to stumble and I have started dragging my feet like some old person. The reason I hiked the "Y" mountain today was to measure my energy level. It would appear from my hiking today that I lost about 1/2 of my energy and strength and it seems to have happened in one day. The doctor is telling me from my blood work, everything looks normal. But I know this is not normal, however, the Lord has allowed this to happen, so I know it is for my good.
