Today Michael, Matthew, and Beth had lunch together. Rae Lynn called while we were on the road.
While I drove to Jackson Hole, Wyoming Debbie read the rest of the book, Roni, Reed loaned us. We met Rori and her husband, Kendall Christensen, at church in Lehi a few months back. Debbie showed me where she worked between her freshman and sophomore years (1971-1972) and where she lived with Grandpa Fred Ick, Aunt Jan, and Uncle Don Davidson at or the base of the ski slope. We rode out to Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park. We brought Debbie’s new electric bike attached on the back of the Subaru Outback and she rode it back to the edge of Jackson Hole.
On the way to Driggs, ID we stopped and took a picture of the Star Valley Wyoming Temple in Afton.
In Driggs, we took pictures of the home where Debbie and her family lived. She had a studio where she taught dance in the Session's motel, now the Teton West Motel. After one year she had enough money to convert the area above the garage at their home into a dance studio with mirrors. We took pictures of the Driggs High School auditorium she rented for dance recitals. One year they dedicated the dance recital to Fred Miller (Debbie thinks Miller was his last name), a clubfooted gentleman, who hiked many of the trails in the Teton National Park. He took the children hiking and in his free time knotted quilts and gave them to the needy in the wintertime.
We ate dinner in Driggs at the Royal Wolf Restaurant.
