Prioritized Daily Task
5:30 AM - Cache and Clari drove to the SLC Airport and parked their truck so Cache can make his dentist appointment when he come back Tuesday morning.
8 AM - Jared brought Porter, Tate, and Max over to ride with us to Idaho to meet their other grandparents, Jami's mother, and dad, who live in Ashton.
8:30 AM - Debbie and I drive to Shelly to check on Jalna, Debbie's mother, and took Porter, Tate, and Max with us. We dropped them off in Pocatello with Jami's sister at their cousin's basketball game. Debbie and I drove on up to Shelly and spent the day at Jalna's, Debbie's mother. She only ate about three to four ounces of cream of wheat with milk. She sleeps until it is time to take her pain medicine except when she goes to the bathroom which is adjacent to her bedroom. Debbie brought clam chowder and chicken salad. I do not think Jalna ate any. We had some for lunch and when Karlene got back in town she brought dinner to Joe L.'s parents and then brought dinner, shepherd's pie, for the three of us. Debbie and Karlend gave Jalna her pain medicine at 7:30 PM and I drove over to Karlene and Joe L.'s. I unloaded the Outback and unpacked waiting for Debbie and Karlene to get home. They are talking to Jalna about getting a doctor, nurse, or someone to check on her. In the past Jalna has forbidden anyone from coming over. She did not let Patrick, her grandson, who lives in Salt Lake City and was coming home from Boise. He got to Pocatello, about 45 minutes from his grandmother and she told him not to come. Her body and mind is breaking down, she is not eating enough to keep her alive very long and not getting out of bed except to go the bathroom, because of her apathy her muscles will deteriorate and she will not be able to use them.
I called and talked to Alex. She was on her way home from BYU with a friend named Blake. She said she would call and talk to us later. I talked to Matthew this morning and this afternoon Michael called. I talked to Autumn about Christmas and presents. She and Michael have both seen the movie and read the book, "The Shack", by William P. Young. The novel was self-published but became a USA Today and The New York Times Best Seller, having sold 1 million copies as of June 8, 2008. Debbie and I were impressed with the story. The title of the book is a metaphor for "the house you build out of your own pain" it is a metaphor for the places you get stuck, you get hurt, you get damaged ...a place where hurt is centered.
Alex, Alexandra, my granddaughter, called and told us how her conservation with Riley went last night. They are going to continue to date and work on building their relationship when they return to BYU after the Christmas holidays to see where it leads them.
