Prioritized Daily Task

Debbie is helping clean her mother's home in Shelly Idaho, while her sister, Karlene, and family are out of town.

I walked to the gym at the Legacy Center to exercise.  All total according to my Fitbit I slept 8 hours and 49 minutes last night and walked a total of over 4.17 miles today.

I worked on indexing today in Family Search.  I also watched the movie, The Professor and the Madman today about how the Oxford Old English Dictionary was written.  It starred Mel Gibson as the Professor, James A. H. Murphy, lexicographer, with no college education, and Sean Penn as the Madman, William Chester Minor who was a retired medic officer in U.S. Army started the work on putting together a comprehensive English dictionary.  Murray had completed everything through "T" when he died of pleurisy on 26th July 1915.  William Chester Minor died at home in the U.S. of pneumonia on 26th March 1920.  When it was finally completed on the 1st of January 1928, it contained 12 volumes, 414,825 words, 1,827,306 illustrative quotations, seventy years after it was first conceived.

Google gave the following information as of June 24, 2018 - We considered dusting off the dictionary and going from A1 to Zyzzyva, however, there are an estimated 171,146 words currently in use in the English language, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, not to mention 47,156 obsolete words.Jun 24, 2018
