This week, in "Come Follow Me" devotional, we are studying D&C Section 18 and 19.  One of the scriptures brought up was Isaiah 43:1-7.  I underlined certain sentences in these verses and likened them unto myself:  I have called thee by thy name (James Leonard McAlpin) and redeemed thee,                                                                                                            thy art mine,                                                                                                   I will be with thee,                                                                                         I am the Lord thy God, thy Savior, The HOLY ONE,                                   thy art precious in My sight,                                                                         I have loved thee,                                                                                           I am with thee,                                                                                                 I will bring thy seed from east, west, north, and south and keep not back,     I have created him/her (thy seed and all mankind) for my glory.

This is part of the promises God made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and can be ours and our posterity's if we like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph obey God.

Specific laws carry specific blessings to us and our posterity.  Psalms 1:1-3 The Law:  Avoid the counsel of the ungodly; do not stand with sinners; do not set with the scornful, the proud or haughty                                                           The Promise:  He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth much good fruit.                                                                      His leaf shall not wither  (I interpret it to mean his children shall not dwindle in unbelief)                                                                          Whatever he does shall prosper,

Isaiah 58:5-14  The Law of the Fast and the Sabbath Day                              Be humble, loose the bands of wickedness, undo heavy burdens that are on the people, let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke that is on the poor.  Feed the hungry, provide shelter to those that have no home, cloth the naked, don't turn away but help those in thy own family. Draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul;                                            Turn from doing thy pleasure on the Sabbath, Holy Day, and call it a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable, and honor Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words, and call it an acceptable day to the Lord.                                                                   The promise:  Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.  When you call, the Lord shall answer.  Thy light shall rise out of obscurity and thy darkness shall be as the noonday:  The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in droughts, and make fat thy bones: and thou shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.  And they that shall be of thee (posterity) shall build the old waste places:  thou shall raise up the foundations of many (righteous) generations; and thou shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. The Lord will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth and feed thee with the heritage of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob (Isreal).  The mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Progeny is (uncountable) offspring or descendants.  Posterity is all the future generations, especially the descendants of a specific person.

D&C 130:20-21  There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before he foundations fo this world, upon which all blessings are predicated--           And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.

D&C 82:10      I the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise.
