Beware of pride. (D&C 38:39)
Wealth in itself is not evil and the Lord is not automatically displeased with the wealthy for He Himself has blessed them with these riches. It is however a warning, the natural course of things is for the rich or perhaps their children or their grandchildren to become first proud and then unfaithful. If the rich take no measure to keep this from happening or just don’t give it enough thought it will happen just as sure as an untended garden will become overgrown with weeds. Therefore, wealthy saints must be aware of the natural effect that wealth has on people and must work actively and creatively to keep this from happening and keep those weeds from their garden. The natural progression from one generation, or to the next, is pride and then to unfaithfulness, and thence to wickedness and to destruction.
The Lord wants to give his children riches but there is a preloaded condition and also maybe a preloaded curse. If you are not faithful, if you are not humble it is just natural, this will be the course your family will follow, so you cannot let this happen.
I watched TV and read before having prayer with Debbie and going to bed.
