Mike Coultas, an old friend of mine from Georgia who is not living with his son, Sean, and his family in Michigan City, IN called today. He went to his heart doctor and is going to have bypass surgery Friday, April 16th. He has 8 blockages in his arteries but they can only do 5 bypasses. The doctor told him that the 5 bypasses would give me new life, lots more energy. It is scheduled in the Chicago Hospital School of Medicine.
We got to Animal Kingdom on Disney's Shuttle about 10 AM. Debbie packed a lunch for us. Beth rented a stroller for Andrew and I rented a wheelchair for Debbie. It worked well, Debbie did not have to spend the day on her feet and she could hold our packed lunches so no one had to carry them on their back. (We have a backpack we put ice in and it keeps our lunch from getting too hot.). In the Animal Kingdom Park there is Discovery Island; Pandora, the World of Avatar; Africa; Asia; Dinoland, USA. The best ride was virtual, Avataar Flight of Passage, for most of us but Tucker said he liked Expedition Everest, Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. The Kilimanjaro Safaris, a ride through the lush African savanna, seeing all the animals and trees. One is dormant 9 months out of the year but can hold up to 10,000 gallons of water and hear and learn how intricate the balance between, the plants, the animals, and nature really is.
We got back to our room and Debbie made dinner and Beth fixed lunches for us tomorrow. Beth and the children went to the pool and they are taking baths now. Beth is going to see if she can find some chocolate-covered pretzels. for Tucker. Later we all had family prayer together and Andrew led us. Debbie and I had prayer as we do every morning and night. Debbie prepared breakfast for us so we can eat quick in the morning and get to Holywood Studio Theam Park.
We met Beth's friend from Darlington School, Rachel Rice now Turner, her husband, Jason, daughter, Audrey, and son, Sam in the park this afternoon.
Debbie and I entering Avatar
Casey and Aida who work in Guest Services who befriended us
