I had prayer with Debbie before she left for church at 9 AM MST. I showered and ate breakfast. Everyone got ready for church and drove over.
10:30 AM PST Vickie met us at church. After sacrament meeting, I went to primary with Madeline and Bella. Matthew came in and I went to priesthood meeting. I picked up some inspiration from the class and instructions. A) If you need a miracle in your life, ask the Lord for the blessing you want. B) The elders' quorum instructor following the counsel of the stake president and high council to teach the brothers to give family priesthood blessings; look for opportunities to give blessing to your family.
When we got home Matthew came up to the credenza and I gave him a father's blessing of peace and assured him from his Father in Heaven he would raise his children and not some other man.
I called and talked to my sister, Ora, in Miramar Beach, Florida.
Melodie made sandwiches for lunch and this evening cooked dinner.
I listened to more of Come Follow Me, lesson D&C 64-66 with Jared Halverson. Part of the lesson was. on tithing D&C 64: 23 Behold, now it is called today until the coming of the Son of Man, and verily it is a day of sacrifice, and a day for the tithing of my people; for he that is tithed shall not be burned at his coming.
24 For after today cometh the burning—this is speaking after the manner of the Lord—for verily I say, tomorrow all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon (the world).
I had prayer with Debbie in Lehi tonight and sent an email to Sister Alexandra "Alex" McAlpin.
Dear Sister McAlpin,
I have been in southern California for the last two weeks with our family celebrating graduations from lower school, high school, and college.
Your cousins (brothers and sister) are growing up fast and I am enjoying every minute I have had to spend with them.
I met a young man, Chris Dorny, at church last week. He and Matt are in the same ward. Chris’s son, Dalyn, was in an automobile accident and not expected to live. In fact, the doctors had contacted the ODF, Organ Donation Foundation, about harvesting his organs.
There are a lot of similarities our family has experienced.
Dalyn’s story is faith promoting. I hope you enjoy it. We love you; you and your companion are in our prayers morning and night.

Dear Len-
It was great catching up two weeks ago. It has been over 3 years since my son's car accident and he is now serving a mission in Colorado springs. He was called to Auckland New Zealand Mandarin speaking, but due to visa's he is in Colorado. I mentioned that I was going to send you a link for a video he did when he got to the mission which talked about his accident and how it affected his life and his desire to serve a mission. See if you can see either of these links. They are for the same video, but I know that facebook can be weird about watching something if you aren't linked to the person.

In the video, he talks
about waking up in the ambulance. He was first at Palomar hospital for a
month. After he opened his eyes, we switched to Scripps hospital.
He finally started processing; I guess it was in the ambulance ride between
hospitals but he couldn't speak for another week or two since he had
apraxia. After we got the right speech therapist, he began talking a
little within an hour. Within a week, he was talking somewhat normally.
One more experience is that the day after his accident, I was giving him a
blessing with my friend. I was blessing his knee since we couldn't touch
his head. During the blessing, I talked about how Cleon Skousand had
shared that every piece of matter has an intelligence attached to it.
Jesus was able to change water into wine by commanding the intelligences to
rearrange themselves into wine. I commanded his brain to do the same
thing and reorganize themselves. At that moment, he sat up (struggling)
like somewhat is trying hard to do a situp. I was scared since they told
me he should not be moving. My wife put her hand on his chest and he laid
down. But it was powerful. I knew God was listening. Looking
back, I wish that I had more faith and commanded him to rise up and walk, but I
didn't. It was just one of many miracles this boy went through.
Anyway, I thought if anyone understood this, you might. Thanks!
If you can't see the video, tell me and I will figure out a way to get it to
you. I watched it again getting the link and it is amazing.
Regards,
Chris Dorny
Len-
Sure, share with anyone. I should have sent you this video as well. I put it together while he was in college (at his 2nd year anniversary). The apraxia portion of this video was the first day that he started talking and shows how they got him talking. Amazing stuff.
