Prioritized Daily Tasks

Dan Truitt's 78th Birthday

Patrick Kelly's 17th Birthday

6:00 PM - LeVell Stadium of Fire, dinner, and fireworks

Debbie was up early and prepared a big nice breakfast for everyone.  Tony come over before the group left for a Traveller family get-to-gather.  They are playing softball and have team Traveller shirts made for the occasion.

Cooper was not able to play because of his appendix surgery and Corbin stayed home here with him.

Debbie and I had to put the Land Rover back on our car wash plan with Quick Quack.

We are listening to Jared Halverson's, Come Follow Me Lesson for next week, Section D&C 76, which Joseph Smith said is a transcript from the records of the eternal world.  Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 11.  Autumn called and said her dad Terry McEwin was not going to be able to pick up Gracey and her two friends who are flying up for basketball camp at BYU this coming week.  I drove to the SLC Airport and picked Grace, Gwen McGee, and Avery Kearl, Jeff Kearl, and Rachel McCauley's daughter.  I took them to Terry and Jill McEwen's who live off Center Street in a subdivision just off N 420 W behind/beside Riverview Park.  I visited with Jill, Terry, and some of their family, Beth, Logan's wife, and others.  Autumn will be up later, in a few days.

I filled the Land Rover with gas before coming home.

Beth called; she and Mark, a friend, had gotten together after dropping Tucker, Maggie, and Andrew off for a little while at Ken and Cyd Davis' home.

Debbie and I drove over to George and Laura's.  We all went to dinner before the Stadium of Fire at BYU LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.  Samantha was not with us.  She was at the Traveller's reunion with Tyler.  The Stadium of Fire was much more than fireworks.  There were freedom award presentations to recipients, Dallin H. Oaks, 1st Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Leonard Bagalwa, who was abducted as a child to be a soldier for the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo to become the founder and director of the Utah Valley Refugee Foundation; and the 5 Puro Sisters from St. George, Utah all serving in the US Military; military band shows by Nitro Circus, motorcycle daredevils; country music singers, Lee Greenwood and Collin Raye. The military band, Mileniall  Choir, featuring Presiden Dallin Oaks daughter on Violin and  David Archello, and 5 soldiers parachuting from a high altitude and landing in the center of LaVell Edwards Stadium, an inspiring, thrilling military flyover by two F-35 jets from Hill Air Force Base in Utah, Star Spangle Banner, and pledge of allegiance all inspiring patriotic tributes not only to the military but to victims of the September 11 attack  20 years ago. This was the largest stadium fireworks show in the USA.  It will be televised to over one million military men and women in more than 170 countries via American Forces Network.

It was about 2 AM before Debbie and I got home, showered, had prayer together and got to bed.
