Prioritized Daily Task 

Debbie and I had prayer; she went to Curves to exercise and I went to the Legacy Center.  I did some exercises for my left hand and walked.  I saw Stacy, Scott's Boice; Bob and Philis's son.

I sent Dorthy Turley the following e-mail:

Dear Dorothy,

I do not have any ownership in the Smith estate, but I know I was named in the earliest records.  

I can understand your frustration in getting the deed signed. Ora has hardly been out of her home in the last two years and Elain does not open her email unless

someone calls and tells her to look at the email they sent.  I have had to call Elain for weeks sometimes before I was able to talk to her.  She lives between Utah, California, and New York,

if she is in the country.  Ora Truitt’s physical address is 132 Chase Run, Miramar Beach, FL 32550; my physical address is 653 West 1310 North, Lehi, UT 84043.  

Ora sent this email; “The reason for my not yet signing the Baxter Turley children’s quit claim deed is my incapacity to do so. I am doubly homebound, not only because of Covid but also my inability to ride due to health challenges. I do not know any notary publics and too I am unable at this time to go to them. Sincerely, Ora Truitt”

All the title companies and attorneys I have worked with before have sent a FedEx package with the documents they wanted signed, notarized, and put in a pre-paid envelope to be mailed back with the address of the attorney.  

This is the email I received from Cindy: “I am so sorry to have to say that without doing a complete title search there is no way of us knowing if the same problem exists on your property.  We will be glad to help in any way we can, and we greatly appreciate you and your family getting these signed and returned to us.  We hope you are all doing well and had a wonderful Thanksgiving!   Cindy Griffith”

If I was in Ashland, it would not take me hardly any time to check the deed records, especially if I had already searched them once before and knew what I was looking for.  Cindy is just looking for more business and not doing a favor for someone.  I do not fault her for this, it is her livelihood.  She sent me an email with her phone number.  I am not really inclined to call her but if she wants to talk to me, my cell phone number is 801-361-3258.

I do not want to come across as insensitive to your problem.  I asked Peggy and Blake to check with the rest of Cleo’s family to let them know there may be a problem with their deed.  This could have been taken care of by their attorney then and not been drawn out to where health has created difficulty in getting the deed signed now.
